US Navy stumbles with DDG-1000
On 7 April 2006, the ex-DD(X)/DD-21 was renamed the DDG-1000, Zumwalt-class. The ship has raised as many expectations as criticism from observers as well as within the US Navy, which keeps losing more and more ships year after year, and the number of orders for new ones does seem to offset the decrease.
